I have seen it reported that John Cockshutt was born on March 7, 1609/10 in Padiham, Lancashire.2603 Indeed there is documentation of a christening of John Cockshoott to Bernard Cockshoot on that day in Padiham,2605 but I have not found any citation of primary documentation indicating that the John of St. Mary’s was the John of Padiham.
