Benjamin was apprenticed in 1742 to baker Thomas Walker of Bromwich,1976 a chapelry in Aston.

Benjamin and his brother Thomas received very small shares of twenty shillings each in the 1770 will of their grandmother Mary Lloyd, née Sampson, while their more noted and successful brothers Charles and Sampson received five pounds each.1977
