I find the bill of sale of personal property from John Lambert, Junr. to John Lambert, Senr.,529 convincing evidence of paternity, especially because it slightly precedes the son’s recognized departure from Frederick, Maryland to Augusta, Virginia.

Beyond that, there were at least three John Lamberts in Frederick County in that era, making it the more difficult to tease out information from the few records that exist.
